Aaliyah Dana Haughton came into fame in 1994, after she dropped her debut album Age Ain't Nothing But A Number. She was only 15 at the time and the album was later renamed Gold. The group was strongly influenced by R. Kelly, and put the singer onto the scene. In 1996, she collaborated with Jermaine Dpri and Timbaland in her album, One In A Million, which featured the #1 hit track If Your Girl Only Knew. Aaliyah achieved international recognition for her R&B songs on the release of this album. She appeared alongside the legendary martial artist Jet Li in the romantic-action movie Romeo Must Die.
