Now, the actress and former cover girl is living the life in Beverly Hills with her dogs Samantha and Olivia (above left). The couple was married only 8 years before they were divorced for 20, but Ann Turkel is still struggling in a state of denial over the loss of her ex-husband, Richard Harris. The actress was born into an Jewish middle-class family and raised within Manhattan, Turkel had, by age 16, studied with both Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse, and Philip Burton at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. Her grandmother is credited with helping her develop creative skills. Ann took classes in acting, dancing and voice all through her youth. At the age of sixteen, Ann had studied at the Musical Theatre Academy and the Neighborhood Playhouse with some of famous acting teachers in the city including Sandy Meisner and Philip Burton. Ann began singing at the age of 16 along with fellow students, and then formed a group. They also staged a full season of summer stock theatre with the Berkshire Playhouse in Stockbridge, Massachusetts with plays such as The Pajama Game" and West Side Story. Ann was spotted at the Vogue Magazine fashion show by Gloria Schiff, an editor. Within the next week, Vogue's editor-in chief Diana Vreeland had Ann shoot her very first Vogue cover alongside photographer Richard Avedon. Ann then became one of the most sought-after models in America, appearing as a cover model for high-end fashion magazines like Vogue Bazaar or Cosmopolitan. Two years later, Ann made her debut on the international market modeling successfully in Europe as well as Japan as the face of big brands in the cosmetic industry like Max Factor Revlon and Chanel.
